Q. Do you offer full service and installation?

A. Lambden takes pride in the decades of experience represented with our exclusive installation teams.

Q. Is window and door replacement recommended in the winter season?

A. An experienced installer can properly replace a window in well under an hour, so installation in colder seasons is not an issue.

Q. Upon order placement, when can I expect my windows to be installed?

A. Depending on the product and the manufacturer, your product delivery dates can vary. On average we will have your job completed within 5 to 8 weeks.

Q. Do you charge a fee for an in-house estimate?

A. In-house estimates are welcome and completely free of cost and obligation.

Q. What brand name of windows do you sell?

A. Our top sellers are Ostaco which are manufactured in Markham, Ontario and Farley which are manufactured in Alexandria, Ontario.

Q. How can I as the consumer verify that I am purchasing a quality window?

A. We only work with carefully selected suppliers that have a reputation for quality of craftsmanship.

Q. Are there different colours are available in windows and doors?

A. Standard vinyl windows are available in white, beige, ivory and sandalwood. Custom colours are available, but extra charges may apply.

Wood ALUMINUM clad windows are available in many colours.

Q. What is Low "E" Argon gas (LEA)?

A. Low "E" stands for Low emissivity which is a coating utilized in insulating glass. The coating was developed to provide improved shading in the summer and solar heat gain in the winter. The benefits are warm center glass temperature for the winter, reduced glass temperature for summer conditions compared to clear glass, reduced ultraviolet light transmissions which helps prevent fading of draperies and furniture and reduces heating and cooling costs for both warm and cold climates. Fifty percent of air conditioning costs are attributed to windows.

"Argon Gas" is a colourless, odorless, non-toxic, non-flammable and non-corrosive gas used to insulate the dead air space normally found between the thermal pane unit. Argon gas improves the R Value of the window (up to R4.2) by reducing heat transfer.

Q. What is Low "E" Squared?

A. Low "E" squared is another coating that is available. The coating blocks 84% of the suns harmful ultraviolet rays and delivers a 96% performance improvement in nighttime insulation compared to clear glass.

Q. What are "grills"?

A. Grills are internal squares between the thermal pane which are made of aluminum. There are different grill patterns available and can be coloured to match the windows.

Q. What are your warranties on windows and doors?

A. All of our vinyl window manufacturers provide excellent warranties on their products. Warranties range from 10 years to lifetime on thermals and hardware.

Wood window manufacturers offer a 1-year warranty on the frame and 5 to 10 years on the thermal.

Door manufacturers offer a 10-year warranty on the slab if painted white or other colour from the factory. Wood frames offer a 1-year warranty.

Note: Some manufacturers will not warranty a door if a storm door is installed.

Q. Do you sell Skylights?

A. Yes, we sell and install Velux Skylights. There are many options to choose from including size, style, sun screening accessories, manual and electric controls.

Q. Should I remove the screens from my windows in the wintertime?

A. If your screens are on the inside, it is beneficial to remove them in the wintertime. This increases airflow and reduces window condensation.

Q. Do you have a staffed and fully equipped Service Department?

A. Yes, we have a full in-house service department to take care of all your needs and requirements.
